1 bowl white rice
6 slices white bread
1/2 pc carrot
100g pea
100g corn
1 tbsp tomato ketchup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1/2 tsp sugar
150g all-purpose flour alternatively, use breadcrumbs
1 pc egg
1 tsp garlic minced

Preparation

Peel and dice carrot. After that, boil the carrots, peas, and corns roughly to soften them. Let dry.

Cut off the white breads' crust, use a rolling pin to flatten then place them on a plate.

Making the fried rice

Stir fry minced garlic with 2 tbsp cooking oil for the aroma. Add rice, carrots, peas, and corns in and stir fry for another 2 minutes. Next, add 1/2 tsp sugar, 1/3 tsp pepper, 1 tbsp tomato ketchup and season to your taste.

Making the dumplings

Use a spoon to scoop a little fried rice onto the middle part of each of the bread slices, then roll them into ball-shaped pieces like photo above.

Dip each of the breaded ball into a bowl of beaten egg before rolling them in all-purpose flour or breadcrumbs.

Deep frying

Heat cooking oil in a non-shallow pan or pot. When the oil is boiled and sizzling, add the balls in one by one and deep fry till they turn to a nice, golden crispy color. Scoop them out and place on paper to absorb the extra oil. Let dry.

Arrange the fried breaded balls onto a plate together with salad or other vegetables. Enjoy while hot with ketchup, chili or mayonnaise. Thanks for reading!
